Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps serving in the state to use their skills and talents to contribute meaningfully to the development of their host communities.

Aiyedatiwa, represented by the State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare, gave the charge while addressing corps members in the state, stressing the importance of their service to national development.

The governor said the NYSC scheme remained an important platform for promoting national unity, youth development and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians from different backgrounds.

He therefore encouraged the corps members to approach their primary and secondary assignments with dedication, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility.

According to him, their contributions in schools, health facilities, rural communities and other institutions could make a lasting difference in the lives of residents.

Similarly, Aiyedatiwa urged the corps members to respect the culture and traditions of their host communities while maintaining good conduct throughout their service year.

Meanwhile, he assured them of the state government’s continued support and urged them to see their service year as an opportunity to gain experience, build relationships and make positive contributions to society.

Aiyedatiwa expressed optimism that the corps members would leave Ondo State better than they came.
