APC candidate Oyebamiji pledges mechanised farming to revive Osun economy

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15 election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has promised to revive the state’s economy through mechanised farming if elected governor.

Oyebamiji made the pledge on Friday while addressing supporters at the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency campaign rally held in Ibokun and Ijebu-Jesa, saying agriculture would be a major focus of his administration because it is the state’s area of comparative advantage.

Speaking in Ibokun after meeting with traditional rulers, the APC candidate said his administration would encourage mechanised farming in all agrarian communities to make farming easier, more attractive and more productive, while linking farming communities to markets through improved rural road infrastructure.

“I am very optimistic that, with your support, I will emerge as the governor of this state on August 15, 2026. One of my major plans is to develop Osun State’s economy through agriculture, where our state has a comparative advantage. We will not only improve agricultural output, we will also link agrarian communities to their markets by building roads in rural communities and rehabilitating the existing ones,” he said.

At Ijebu-Jesa, Oyebamiji pledged to govern all parts of the state without bias, assuring residents that every local government would benefit from his administration if elected.

He said his administration would rehabilitate neglected public schools, primary healthcare centres and road infrastructure, while employing qualified teachers and health workers to improve access to quality education and healthcare.

Earlier, Oyebamiji paid royal visits to the Ogboni of Ibokun, Oba Festus Adegboro, the Egboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Moses Agunsoye, and other traditional rulers, who prayed for the success of his governorship aspiration.
