Apostle Suleman slams N1bn suit on Halima Abubakar for defamation

Founder of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman has slammed N1billion defamation suit against Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar.
Halima in a recent interview had accused the clergy of impregnating her 3 times and multiple sexual intercourse with her while bleeding.
The film star’s latest claim comes after the cleric sued her for alleged defamation.
In the suit filed before a high court sitting in Abuja, Suleman demanded, among other things, N1billion as damages.
“A declaration that the statements published by the defendant against the claimant on her Instagram handle @Halmabubakar, falsely and maliciously written and published to the general public, are defamatory of the person of the claimant.
“An order directing the defendant to publish a retraction of her defamatory statements published on her Instagram hande @alimabubakar and on several online blogs and newspapers.
“Pay the sum of N1,000,000,000.00 (one billion naira only) to the claimant as aggravated and exemplary damages for libel contained in the publication of the defendant against the claimant on her Instagram handle @Halimabubakar and caused to be published by the defendant in several newspapers and news blogs, including Gistlover at Gistlover.com.
“An order directing the defendant to pay the claimant the sum of 20,000,000.00 (twenty million naira) being legal fee paid to the counsels handing this suit,” the suit demanded.
Suleman is yet to react to Halima’s latest allegations.
