Aregbesola labels post mocking APC after Osun loss ‘unauthorized’

Former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has labelled the Facebook post where it seemed like he was mocking the All Progressives Congress for their loss in the governorship election as “unauthorized”.

WesternPost had earlier reported that the interior minister who travelled out of Nigeria on Friday night posted on his social media page immediately the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the official result.

He wrote: “Osun le tente’ meaning Osun is on top with a quote from the book of Daniel 4:17 “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the Holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.”

After backlash over the post, Aregbesola deleted it from his verified Facebook page where it was posted.

Reacting via statement by his Media Adviser, Sola Fasure, which was also posted on the verified Facebook page, Aregbesola asked his followers to ignore the former post, claiming it was unauthorised.

“It has come to the attention of the media office of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, that an unauthorized message was posted on his Verified Twitter and Facebook Pages at about 8:00am on Sunday 17th July, 2022.

“The unauthorized messages have now been deleted. Members of the public, especially the media, are advised to ignore,” the statement read.
