Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola has reached to the victory of People Democratic Party in Osun State governorship election.
PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke defeated the incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola with 403,371 votes. The APC candidate got 375, 027.
Aregbesola who travelled out of Nigeria on Friday night posts on his social media page immediately the electoral umpire the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the official result.
He wrote:, “Osun le tente’ meaning Osun is on top with a quote from the book of Daniel 4:17 “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the Holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.”
In apparent reference and dig at Governor Oyetola, Aregbesola likened the loss of the election to God taken power from the incumbent governor to Adeleke who ordinarily should be unfit for the role.
