Barcelona clinch 28th LaLiga title with 2–0 win over Espanyol

Barcelona secured their 28th LaLiga title on Thursday night with a 2–0 victory over city rivals Espanyol, establishing an unassailable seven-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid with just two games remaining.
After a 4–3 defeat to Barcelona on Sunday, Real Madrid needed to win their remaining three matches and hope Barcelona collected no more than one point to have any mathematical chance of winning the title.
However, those hopes were extinguished when Lamine Yamal curled a superb shot into the net in the 53rd minute. Fermin Lopez sealed the win by striking home a loose ball inside the box five minutes into stoppage time.
The result took Barcelona to 85 points, seven clear of defending champions Real Madrid, while Atletico Madrid sit third on 70 points.
The victory marks a remarkable debut season for coach Hansi Flick, who has guided Barcelona to a domestic double—winning both LaLiga and the Copa del Rey.
