BPP, NUPRC partner to deepen procurement reforms in upstream petroleum sector

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) have begun a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening procurement standards and promoting value-driven operations in Nigeria’s upstream petroleum sector.
Director-General of the BPP, Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun, made this known during a high-level strategic engagement and capacity-building session with the management of the NUPRC in Abuja.
Adedokun said the Bureau remained committed to ensuring that Nigeria derives maximum value from procurement processes in upstream operations.
“The Bureau is fully committed to ensuring that Nigeria achieves value for money in its upstream operations,” he said.
The BPP chief also praised the leadership of the Commission Chief Executive of NUPRC, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, for efforts in stabilising the sector despite global economic pressures.
“The NUPRC is doing a commendable job for the common Nigerian,” Adedokun stated.
He noted that the commission’s regulatory oversight had helped Nigeria avoid more severe fuel supply challenges amid global market uncertainties.
Adedokun stressed that investments in training and institutional development must translate into strict compliance with the Public Procurement Act.
