Nigeria’s Flamingos have defeated Brazil 3-1 to book their place in the final of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup for the first time in the country’s history.
Queen Joseph opened the scoring in the 56th minute before Awawu Bashiru doubled Nigeria’s lead in the 71st minute.
Bashiru struck again in the 80th minute to complete her brace and give the Flamingos a commanding 3-0 advantage, before Brazil’s Greise Kelly scored late in the semi-final to reduce the deficit.
The Flamingos will face Japan in Saturday’s final as they seek to win their first-ever FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup title.
