BREAKING: Gunmen abduct woman, baby in Ondo

By Boye Oyeyemi –

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a woman and her baby along the Supare–Ayegunle Road in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident reportedly occurred along the busy axis, throwing residents of the area into panic.

Sources said the victim is a nursing mother who was seized together with her baby during the attack.

It was gathered that the woman’s husband is a furniture maker who is well known in the Akungba community.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the family was well recognised in the area and described the abduction as shocking.

However, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said information available to the police was still sketchy and could not yet be confirmed.
