BREAKING: President Tinubu departs Japan for state visit to Brazil

President Bola Tinubu has departed Yokohama, Japan, en route to Brazil for a state visit scheduled to begin on Friday.
The president is expected to make a stopover in Los Angeles before proceeding to Brasília, the Brazilian capital.
Tinubu’s foreign trip began on August 15 when he left Abuja for a two-nation visit. His delegation first had a brief stop in Dubai before arriving in Yokohama on August 18.
While in Japan, the president attended the opening ceremony and plenary of the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) on August 20. He also held a series of bilateral meetings and later met with Nigerians in the diaspora on Thursday night.
The visit to Brazil marks the second leg of his foreign tour.
