BREAKING: Three trapped as 3-storey building collapses in Ebute Metta
Three people have trapped under rubble as three storey residential building with a penthouse collapsed in Ebute Metta area of Lagos state.
An eyewitness informed WesternPost that other occupants escaped when the building gave signs and sound.
The cause of the collapse was unknown as at time of filing the report.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, in a statement issued on Friday, said that the three adults were rescued alive and attended to by the agency’s Pre-Hospital Care.
” Emergency responders at the incident scene are LASEMA, LASAMBUS, LASEMA Pre-Hospital Care Team, Lagos State Fire Service, LASBCA, NEMA, Lagos Mainland LGA and the NPF.
” Three adults rescued alive and attended by LASEMA Pre-Hospital Care and LASAMBUS.
” Three fatalities have been extracted from the rubble comprising of an adult male, adult female and one young female (11 year old). Operation still ongoing. Further updates to follow later”, said Oke-Osanyintolu.
