Bus officer harasses lady for complaining about insufficient BRT buses in Ikorodu

A social media content creator with the username @darkskinned.ella on Instagram has been allegedly harassed for speaking about the insufficient number of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses in Ikorodu.
This came to light after she released a video recording of the altercation between a female BRT bus attendant and herself on Wednesday via Instagram.
Western Post gathered that the content creator had earlier began a series depicting how she resumes late to work despite arriving the Ikorodu BRT terminal early due to the poor number of BRT buses available.
She disclosed that her attacker had accosted her some days ago for complaining about the quagmire and urged her to quit making such types of videos about the Lagos State government – an advice she jettisoned, assuring that she would stop only when the situation is fixed.
The situation escalated on Wednesday morning when the same staff attendant attacked her while peacefully filming her video on the queue, demanding that she stopped recording immediately amid trying to forcefully confiscate her phone.
Although @darksinned.ella was able to free herself from the scuffle eventually, and go on with her video; however, the situation has raised concerns about freedom of speech, and the ability of citizens to call their elected leaders to order.
Reacting to the issue, various netizens took to the comments section to register their thoughts about the situation with many sharing similar experiences of delay at the Ikorodu BRT terminal.
The Lagos Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system was officially commissioned and introduced to Lagos State on March 17, 2008, by Governor Babatunde Fashola to provide a fast, reliable, and affordable transportation alternative to the city’s chaotic, unregulated, and congested road network.
