Dangote Cement, two other cement makers generate  N762.97bn profit in Q1 2026 

Dangote Cement Plc and two other cement manufacturing companies in Nigeria generated N762.97 billion profit before tax in the first quarter (Q1) ended March 31, 2026.

This is about  57.4 per cent increase over N484.83billion generated in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025. 

The remaining two companies are BUA Cement Plc and Lafarge Africa Plc.  

The breakdown revealed that Dangote Cement in Q1 2026 reported N421.2billion profit before tax about 35 per cent increase over N311.97billion in Q1 2025, while BUA Cement posted N192.68billion profit before tax in Q1 2026, up by 93 per cent from N99.7 billion in Q1 2025.

In addition, Lafarge Africa generated N149.12  billion profit before tax in Q1 2026, representing an increase of 104 per cent from N73.11billion reported in Q1 2025. 

WESTERNPOST learnt that the combined three companies generated an estimated N1.89 trillion revenue in Q1 202, about 23.1per cent increase over N1.53 trillion in Q1 2025.

The  CEO, Lafarge Africa, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, in a statement said, “Our Q1 2026 result reflects continued progress in executing our strategic priorities. Net Sales grew by  35% year-on-year, supported by improved volumes, enhanced plant stability, and distribution efficiency. 

“Operating Profit increased by 97per cent to N141 billion, while Profit After Tax rose by 101per cent to N98 billion, driven by supply assurance, disciplined cost management, and improved route-to-market. These results  underscore our continued focus on delivering sustainable value to our shareholders.”

“As we move through 2026, we will continue to leverage the industrial and technical expertise of Huaxin  Building Materials Ltd to further improve our operations and unlock efficiency gains.
