Davido’s ‘Unavailable’ rakes in over N137m in UK

Award-winning Afrobeats star David Adeleke aka Davido has kicked off 2024 on a big note.

The music star’s hit single from his ‘Timeless’ album, ‘Unavailable’ has sold over 200,000 units in the United Kingdom.

This news was shared by Davido on the stories of his official Instagram after The BPI certified the song Silver.

The BPI administers the BRIT Certified Platinum, Gold and Silver awards scheme for music releases in the United Kingdom.

Investigations conducted by WesternPost revealed that a song is sold for 56 pence on itunes. With the sale of 200,000 units, the song would have accrued the total sum of £118,000 (N137,453,480).

Other platforms where the song can be downloaded at a cost include Spotify and Boomplay. The sums for this downloads could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

The song is also used on Shazam, Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, to generate funds for the 31-year-old father of four.

According to the verified Twitter account of a music platform, 49th Street, Davido’s “Unavailable” featuring Musa Keys has sold 100k+ units in the USA. In the same vein, globally acclaimed superstar, Rihanna crowned ‘Unavailable’ as her ultimate ‘Song of the Year.’

‘Unavailable’ is a collaboration between Nigerian artist Davido and South African singer Musa Keys. It is the first and hit single of the ‘Timeless’ album.

Davido has been nominated for three Grammy nominations ahead of the 66th Annual Grammy Awards scheduled for February 4, 2024. The singer was nominated for Best Global Album for his latest album, Best African Performance, and Best Global Music Performance.
