Defections: Osun PDP lawmakers reaffirm loyalty to party, Adeleke

Three Senators and eight members of the House of Representatives from Osun State, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and pledged unwavering support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

In separate statements, the lawmakers praised Adeleke’s leadership style, describing it as inclusive, people-centered, and results-driven.

The three Senators—Francis Ade Fadahunsi (Osun East), Oyewumi Kamorudeen Olalere, Ph.D (Osun West), and Fadeyi Oluwole Olubiyi (Osun Central)—jointly declared their full allegiance to the Governor and the PDP, vowing to continue supporting his development agenda.

The eight PDP House of Representatives members also distanced themselves from a recent statement made by their former colleague, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, who recently defected from the party. They dismissed rumours of further defections.

They described Oke’s exit as long anticipated, citing his persistent disloyalty, disrespect, and public criticism of the party and the Adeleke-led government.

The lawmakers accused Oke of attempting to sow discord with misleading claims and urged him not to drag others into his political decisions. “His resignation is a mark of ingratitude to the party that sustained his political relevance for over two decades,” their statement read.

Reaffirming their loyalty to Governor Adeleke and the PDP, the lawmakers stressed that the party remains united and strong in Osun State.

They assured the public that the PDP caucus is solid, focused on delivering democratic dividends, and will not be distracted by political noise.
