Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, selflessness, and unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as the country works toward lasting peace and national development.
The Vice President made the call on Friday during the Eid al-Adha prayers held at the National Eid Ground along Airport Road in Abuja. He described the Islamic festival as a time for reflection and solidarity, emphasizing its foundation in the values of obedience and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Abraham.
“This is a period of sober reflection, a season of reaching out to the indigent among us, of building bridges of brotherhood and sisterhood,” Shettima said. “Life is a marathon. As individuals, we may run faster but wear out easily. But as a nation, we can gain greater traction and reach our desired destination.”

Addressing thousands of worshippers at the prayer ground, Shettima stressed the importance of unity in overcoming national challenges, including insecurity and poverty. He urged Nigerians to set aside their differences and rally behind the President in the interest of the country’s collective progress.
“What binds us together supersedes whatever divides us. I thank all Nigerians for their support and empathy and urge us all to come together as one to confront our common challenges,” he said.

The Vice President expressed optimism about the country’s future, assuring citizens that despite current hardships, Nigeria is on a path to recovery and sustained development.
“No matter how long the night is, it must give way to the light of dawn. We have crossed the Rubicon and are on the path to peace and growth,” he added.
