Eid-al-Fitr: Muslim group calls for love, unity amid rising global crisis

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria has called for a more peaceful world built on love, unity and respect for human dignity.

Making the call in his Eid-ul-Fitr message titled “Seek the Love of Allah to Achieve the Purpose of Your Creation,” the Amir of the group, Alatoye Azeez Folorunso, disclosed that the just concluded Ramadan period was a challenging time for both Muslims and the global community.

He noted that tensions in the Middle East, including the conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran, created fear of a wider global crisis.

The cleric indicated that the current state of the world shows how bad humanity has failed, especially as regards living according to the purpose set by God.

According to him, true peace can only be achieved when people follow divine guidance and show love to one another.

While quoting verses from the Quran, the Islamic leader explained that human beings were created to worship Allah, adding that the failure to live according to this purpose is the cause of the current global instability.

Alatoye also referred to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, stressing that love for God should be expressed through worship and respect for others, adding that many people now place their trust in individuals, nations and institutions instead of God.

The amir further urged Muslims to continue the good habits developed during Ramadan, including humility, kindness and devotion to God, even after the fasting period has ended.
