Ex-Ondo Dep. Gov. denies rift between Aiyedatiwa, Minister Tunji-Ojo

By Boye Oyeyemi –
Former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Prince Lasisi Oluboyo, has dismissed rumours of a rift between Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
He described the speculation as unfounded and harmful to the unity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Oluboyo, in a statement obtained by WESTERN POST on Tuesday, said the relationship between both leaders has been marked by collaboration and mutual respect.

He noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa has acknowledged Tunji-Ojo’s contributions to the party by supporting his nominees for key political appointments, including commissioners, local government chairmen, and LCDA heads.
The former deputy governor stressed that in Nigerian politics, the state governor is recognised as the leader of the party in their state, a principle he said must be respected in Ondo.
He praised Aiyedatiwa’s record of providing monthly welfare packages for party executives from the state to ward level and fostering unity among APC support groups ahead of the 2027 elections.
Oluboyo urged party stakeholders to avoid creating unnecessary divisions and instead consolidate efforts to ensure APC’s resounding victory in the next presidential election.
He warned that undermining the governor’s authority would weaken the party’s strength and cohesion.
