Fayose hails Oyebanji as performer, backs continuity in Ekiti

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described Governor Biodun Oyebanji as a performer and builder who deserves continuity in office ahead of the June 20 governorship poll in the state.
Fayose spoke on Wednesday alongside ex-presidential adviser, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, during the final leg of Oyebanji’s campaign tour of local government areas held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti.
The former governor said Oyebanji had united political stakeholders across the state and earned support through his performance in office.
“I am not a member of APC, you all know my party. But what is good has no other name. I want Oyebanji, popularly known as BAO, to remain in office till 2030. He is a good leader,” Fayose said.
He added that former governors in the state were backing Oyebanji’s re-election bid, stressing that the administration had not sidelined any group in the state.
Ojudu, a former Special Adviser on Political Matters to the President, also commended the governor’s leadership style, describing him as accessible and people-oriented.
He urged party supporters to deliver massive votes for the governor at the poll, while Senate Leader and Chairman of the Campaign Council, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, said the governor had performed well in governance, unity building and human capital development.
Responding, Oyebanji thanked residents for the support received across the 15 local government areas visited during the campaign, highlighting projects executed by his administration, including the Ekiti State International Cargo Airport, road projects, a flyover and healthcare infrastructure.
