Focus on insecurity-Kwara North APC tasks candidates

The Kwara North Caucus of the All Progressives Congress has urged political aspirants in the region to prioritise insecurity over agitation for the zoning of the 2027 governorship seat.
Speaking in Ilorin, the caucus, led by Benjamin Yisa, expressed concern that political leaders are focusing more on power rotation than the safety of residents.
According to Yisa, insecurity has persisted in Kwara North for over three years, with frequent attacks, abductions, and displacement of communities by bandits.
He noted that many residents now live in fear and have been forced to seek refuge in neighbouring communities due to the worsening situation.
Furthermore, the caucus criticised the recent mega rally organised by some governorship aspirants, describing it as misplaced priority amid growing security challenges.
Despite the concerns, the group declared support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the governorship ambition of Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa.
Similarly, the caucus coordinator, Luqman Musa, distanced the group from statements and rallies by individuals claiming to represent Kwara North on zoning issues.
He emphasised that while the region desires to produce a governor, such ambition must be based on competence and the ability to deliver meaningful development across Kwara State.
