EXCLUSIVE: FRSC woos ‘Nigerians of proven character’ to join scheme in curbing accidents

The Federal Road Safety Corps has called on Nigerians of proven character to enlist in its Special Marshals scheme to help curb road crashes across the country.

The appeal was made by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, at the 2026 Special Marshals’ National Retreat held in Akure.

Represented by the Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Training, Abiodun Akinlade, he said the credibility and conduct of special marshals would strengthen operations on highways nationwide.

Furthermore, he described the retreat as an opportunity to reassess strategies and improve performance in line with evolving road safety challenges.

He emphasized that the role of special marshals remains critical, noting that the corps depends on their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to duty.

Similarly, the National Coordinator of Special Marshals, Adaji Usman, commended the corps leadership while urging members to maintain integrity and prioritise their health.

Meanwhile, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, represented by Adetunji Adeleye, lauded the collaboration among security agencies and pledged continued support for road safety efforts.

Additionally, the Deji of Akure, Adetoyinbo Aladelusi, alongside other dignitaries, commended the FRSC for its contributions to protecting lives and reducing road crashes nationwide.
