Former Oyo APC governorship aspirant, Tegbe, set to join PDP

A former All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Joseph Tegbe, is set to dump the party for the Peoples Democratic Party.

According to OYO INSIGHT, Tegbe’s defection from the APC to the PDP was facilitated by former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Monsurat Sunmonu who was his ‘big sister’ while growing up in Oyo town.

As part of the agreement for the defection, Tegbe was promised the PDP ticket for Oyo Central Senatorial district.

The deal was sealed late Tuesday night, after months of intense pressure, a source close to those who secured the ‘transfer’ said.

”APC hasn’t treated him very well, though I am not happy with his movement. Mr. Tegbe has a lot of followers. It will definitely affect our party,” The Ibadan-based paper quoted an APC stalwart as saying.

Tegbe was one of the popular faces hoping to get the APC ticket for the 2019 governorship election before the party settled for Adebayo Adelabu.
