Former NPFL, CHAN Eagles star Adetunji set to dump Nigeria for Sudan

Former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and Super Eagles B striker, Sunday Adetunji, is reportedly set to dump Nigeria and pledge his international future to Sudan.

Adetunji, who previously played for Rivers United, Shooting Stars, and Plateau United, is said to be in the process of obtaining Sudanese citizenship, paving the way for him to represent the Sudanese national team.

The prolific forward, currently on the books of Al Hilal of Sudan, has been in exceptional form this season — scoring regularly, leading the attack, and helping his club secure qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage.

Adetunji, who once featured for the home-based Super Eagles, also known as the CHAN Eagles, could soon make his debut for Sudan as reports suggest he may be called up for the upcoming AFCON tournament in December.
