FRSC Lagos Sector Commander, Patrick Davou retires in grand style
The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Lagos, Patrick Davou, has retired from serivce after clocking age 60.
Davou, who only spent one year in Lagos having held several positions and served in different capacities outside the State, was celebrated by both his colleagues and friends in a glamorous occasion held at the FRSC Lagos Office.
Dressed in full compliment, Davou walked into the valedictory reception majestically with his wife after he had been honoured with parade by his subordinates.
Speaking at the reception, Davou thanked his colleagues for their cooperation while in service, saying that without their support he might not be able to record any success as Sector Commander.
Sharing his work experience in Lagos, Davou stated that the State was a unique place to work as a road safety official, stating that lazy people cannot succeed in the State.
He added ” Lagos is a very unique place. You have to be hard working to succeed in the State. I have worked in many States but Lagos is different. I am someone who believes in God’s time. I don’t lobby for position and promotion. I work in anywhere I am posted to with excuse.
“I was posted to Northeast for 8years when Boko Haram was tough but I succeeded. I have never being in Lagos until I was posted. My posting to Lagos was on merit, I did not lobby for it.
“When i came i called all my staff and told them I am here to work. With this, I canvassed for their support to succeed, and which we did.
“Under my watch, the Sector was able to win as number one Sector in Nigeria. Also, I was able to secure 4 motor bikes for the Sector from Lagos state security trust fund. Also, I was able to secure an operational vehicle from Hon. James Faleke (Ikeja Federal Representative) for the Sector”.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Deputy Corps Commander, Lucas Oguntade, showered encomium on Davou, describing him as a ‘man of grace’.
Oguntade said that the retirement ceremony was a celebration of fulfil career that ended in a glorious way.
He said that Davou changed the narrative of the Sector with his excellent performance and records, adding that he was very dedicated to his job and ran an open-door policy.
” It was under him, we won the number one Sector Command in Nigeria. This is a great achievement to us”, said Oguntade.
Also, the Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area ( OLCDA), Segun Odunmbaku, who represented the Ikeja House of Representatives Lawmaker, Hon. James Faleke, described the retired Davou as a dedicated public servant.
Faleke said that Davou would be remembered for his firmness, calmness, integrity and diligence during his serivce to the country.
He said Davou was always steadfast in the midst of challenges, adding that his legacy would continue to be remembered in the constituency.
Some of those who attended the valedictory session were, Lagos Zonal Director of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Michael Wetkas, Deputy Director of VIO (Lagos), Engr. Ola Desu, Head of Special Marshal, Pastor Segun Akintan and his colleagues, Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Barr. Olalekan Onafeko and representative of the Lagos State government.
