The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ondo State Command, has decorated 27 newly promoted officers and 131 marshals with their new ranks.

State Sector Commander Dr Samuel Ibitoye, who performed the decoration in Akure, described the promotion as a call to greater responsibility in ensuring safer roads across the state.

“Today, 158 newly promoted staff of FRSC in Ondo State Command, comprising 27 officers and 131 marshals, were decorated with their new ranks. So, for the promoted staff, know that your elevation comes with enormous responsibility; you must double your efforts now, you must work harder than before and live up to expectations,” he said.

Ibitoye stressed that promotion in the corps was based on performance, urging the officers and marshals to improve their advocacy and service delivery.

He added, “Because there is a need for you to improve on your performance, to do more advocacy, and to ensure people and Nigerians entirely get value from FRSC.”

He also advised those who missed out on the exercise not to be discouraged, noting that reducing crashes on Nigerian roads requires collective effort. “Let us remember that road safety is a collective responsibility and an idea everybody must take ownership of,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the decorated officers, Mr Ololade Baale, who rose from Chief Route Commander to Assistant Corps Commander, pledged loyalty to the corps.

“We want to dedicate this promotion to the vision of the corps, and we will be more loyal to the ideal of FRSC,” he said.
