Gbajabiamila to join Shettima to escort Buhari’s remains back to Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has directed his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to join Vice President Kashim Shettima on a trip to the United Kingdom to accompany the body of former President Muhammadu Buhari back to Nigeria.

The directive follows the official announcement of Buhari’s death in London after a prolonged illness.

In a statement released by the Presidency and signed by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, President Tinubu also confirmed that he had spoken with the late President’s widow, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, offering his condolences on behalf of the nation.

As part of official mourning, the President has ordered all national flags to be flown at half-staff across the country in honour of Buhari’s memory.
