Gunmen attack farmer, abduct wife in Ondo

In a rather tragic turn of events, a group of unknown gunmen reportedly attacked a farmer and abducted his wife in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Confirming the abduction, the Spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, disclosed that the incident happened along Oda Road, Akure, on Wednesday evening.
The attack, according to Jimoh, occurred around 8:45 p.m. in the residence of Adesida Daniel, a local tomato farmer in Isagba Community.
Western Post also gathered that during the attack, Mr. Daniel sustained a gunshot injury to his right hand while trying to resist the kidnappers.
Describing the assailants as suspected kidnappers, the police revealed they set out from their base to violently invade the farmer’s home and wreak havoc.
While assuring the public of swift action, the commissioner of police assured residents that every effort will be made to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice, while also ordering intensified patrols and bush combing operations in adjoining communities, and stressing the need for community dwellers to alert the authorities with viable information when and where necessary.
