Ilorin Golf Club, breeding ground for champions, says Zana of Ilorin

Engineer Lanre Shagaya, the Zana of Ilorin and an accomplished golfer, has praised Ilorin Golf Club as a “breeding ground for champions,” lauding its role in producing outstanding golfers and veterans.

Speaking with journalists at the ICMA PRO-AM Open Golf Tournament in Ilorin on Saturday, Shagaya expressed his satisfaction with the championship, emphasizing that it had met expectations and attracted golfers from across Nigeria for the four-day event.

Shagaya highlighted the club’s exceptional ambiance and the pristine, well-maintained course as significant draws for golfers nationwide.

“The ambiance is fantastic, with golfers from Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, and Lagos in attendance. It’s an impressive tournament, showcasing the effective management of Ilorin Golf Club,” he said.

He further commended ICMA Professional Services for its substantial investment in golf, urging other Nigerians to support the sport’s growth in the country by following ICMA’s example.
