I’m not Abuja-imposed candidate, says Fasoranti

Former Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, has dismissed claims that his senatorial ambition is being dictated by political forces in Abuja.
The former SSG recently resigned his position to focus on his senatorial ambition, a move confirmed by the governor’s spokesman, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.
Addressing the allegations of being influenced by external actors, Fasoranti described the claim as false and politically motivated, insisting that his decision to contest the Ondo Central Senatorial seat is rooted in grassroots support.
He made this known on Sunday in Akure during an interaction, where he maintained that his aspiration was driven by a desire to serve his people.
According to him, his entry into the race followed widespread encouragement from constituents who believe in his capacity to represent them effectively.
He stressed that leadership should reflect the will of the people, not be shaped by political labelling or external influence.
Fasoranti equally appreciated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the opportunity to serve in his administration, noting that the role exposed him to governance realities.
Addressing residents, he assured of quality representation, pledging to prioritise development projects and improve the welfare of the people if elected.
