INEC deploys 2,062 officials, 574 BVAS machines for Ibadan North by-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday announced the deployment of 2,062 officials to oversee Saturday’s by-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Oyo State.
Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Adeniran Rahmon Tella, disclosed this at a press briefing in Ibadan, stating that the election would hold in all 12 wards and 512 polling units of the constituency.
According to him, 272,196 voters are registered in the area, while 217,980 have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
INEC has also configured 526 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines, with 48 set aside as backups, for the poll.
The by-election follows the death last year of the constituency’s representative, Hon. Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi.
