It feels good to let the world know I’m a virgin at 37, says ex-MBGN

Omowunmi Akinnifesi, the 2005 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN), has revealed that it feels good to come out of her closet to tell the world she’s a virgin at 37.

In an Instagram video shared by the former beauty queen to mark her birthday, she said, ““It feels good to come out of the closet.”

On why she has remained a virgin despite winning a pageant and going on to become a businessman, she said, “Personally, I had a covenant with God when I was 18 about keeping myself. I walked in shame for a very, very long time. I had friends I couldn’t talk to. When I finally spoke to them, they laughed at me. I didn’t mind those stories (rumoured romance) because it helped mask the real me.

“It would be harder now. Everyone is so open about their sexuality, and I can’t imagine what younger women choosing this path are going through.”
