JUST IN: Afenifere Secretary-General Ebiseni backs Tinubu, joins APC

The Secretary-General of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, Chief Sola Ebiseni, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and indicated his readiness to work with the All Progressives Congress.

The development was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, following Ebiseni’s meeting with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at the Government House in Akure.

Aiyedatiwa, who received Ebiseni alongside the state APC Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, assured him and his supporters of integration into the party’s campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Aiyedatiwa also cited Ebiseni’s previous positions as chairman of the old Ilaje-Ese-Odo Local Government and a commissioner in the state, saying his experience would be useful in the campaign for Tinubu’s second term.

Speaking on his decision to support Tinubu, Ebiseni said the president deserved another term to consolidate his administration’s socio-economic and security policies. He also argued that keeping the presidency in the South would promote political stability.

Ebiseni identified the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a major project for the Ilaje coastal communities of Ondo State, while advocating the proper coastal alignment of the road through the state.

He further cited the proposed State Police and the expansion of the Nigerian Army’s divisions among policies that required time to mature, adding that he and his supporters were ready to contribute to the campaign for Tinubu’s re-election.
