JUST IN: Fayose arrives Olubadan’s palace for private meeting amid Oyo tension
By Adejayan Gbenga, Ibadan
Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday visited Ibadan amid rising tension linked to ongoing issues involving the traditional institution and the Oyo State Government.
The visit comes at a time of heightened political and traditional tension surrounding developments associated with the Olubadan stool, which has continued to draw attention from key stakeholders across the state.
Fayose had earlier alleged that Seyi Makinde was making moves to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.
There have also been reports alleging that some elements are plotting to impeach Governor Makinde, further heightening political tension in the state.
Upon arrival, Fayose reportedly proceeded to the residence of Oba Ladoja, where he held a closed-door meeting with the monarch.
Although details of the meeting were not disclosed as of press time, sources indicated that the discussions may have focused on efforts to calm rising tensions and explore peaceful ways to resolve the situation.
