Kiddwaya faces backlash over public fundraiser for Benue victims

By Tosin Brown –
BBNaija reality star Kiddwaya has come under criticism for soliciting financial donations from Nigerians to support victims of the recent Benue massacre.
The reality star initiated a donation drive through his NGO, the Kiddwaya Foundation, aiming to provide relief for those affected by the attack.
In an appeal shared on X, Kiddwaya urged the public to donate any amount—from ₦500 to ₦500,000—saying, “At the Kiddwaya Foundation, we’re mobilizing resources to provide food, shelter, and essential support to those affected. But we can’t do it alone; we need your help.”
His appeal drew backlash due to his frequent public display of wealth and flamboyant lifestyle on social media.
Following the criticism, Kiddwaya deleted the viral post from his page.
The donation drive followed a deadly attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Yelwata community, Benue State, where over 200 people were reportedly burned alive between Friday night and Saturday morning.
