King Mohammed VI of Morocco has extended heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the people of Nigeria following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a message issued from the royal palace in Rabat, the Moroccan monarch expressed deep sorrow over Buhari’s passing, describing him as a “distinguished leader” who devoted his life to advancing Nigeria’s interests and fostering national unity.

King Mohammed VI paid tribute to Buhari’s legacy, noting his tireless service to Nigeria and his role in strengthening bilateral ties between Rabat and Abuja.

“I share your grief and want you to know how much I appreciated the working sessions I had with the deceased,” the King said. “Those engagements led to the launch of promising development projects that opened a new chapter of friendship and cooperation between our two countries.”

The monarch added that Buhari’s leadership helped build a foundation for enduring diplomatic and economic cooperation between Morocco and Nigeria.

He extended his condolences not only to President Tinubu but also to Buhari’s family and the Nigerian people, praising the late leader as “an illustrious son of Africa.”

The message underscored the depth of personal and diplomatic respect the Moroccan King held for Buhari, highlighting shared visions for development across the continent.
