The Kwara State Fire Service received 197 emergency and fire incident calls between January and August 2026, according to the agency.
The service said it recorded no loss of life during the period, adding that its timely response to emergencies helped save lives and property.
The figures were contained in a statement signed by the service’s Public Relations Officer, Hassan Adekunle, and made available to Western Post on Tuesday in Ilorin.
According to the statement, the service recorded an estimated ₦29.65 billion worth of property saved during the period, while property losses were estimated at ₦1.76 billion.
The agency said the estimated value of the property saved covered buildings and other assets that could have been destroyed by the fires.
Meanwhile, the fire service reported that it did not receive any false alarm during the eight-month period, describing the development as commendable.
The agency attributed the successful rescue operations partly to the timely response of residents, who alerted firefighters promptly whenever emergencies occurred.
It therefore thanked Kwara residents for their cooperation and urged them to continue making timely calls to the service during emergencies to help prevent loss of lives and property.
