The Kwara State Government has ordered the immediate closure of Government High School and Government Day Secondary School, Adeta, in Ilorin West Local Government Area, following a wave of student unrest.

The directive was issued on Tuesday by the State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, during a press briefing at the ministry’s headquarters in Ilorin.

According to Dr. Olohungbebe, the closure aims to restore order and ensure the safety of students and staff. He clarified that only students currently sitting for the ongoing Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE), along with their teachers, would be allowed access to the school premises.
