Lagos INEC dismisses reports of voter register display failure in Alimosho, Somolu

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State has debunked reports alleging that the display of the Register of Voters did not take place at some Registration Area centres in Alimosho and Shomolu Local Government Areas.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Head of the Voter Education and Publicity Department, Mrs Esther Emeh, described the reports as false and inconsistent with the actual situation.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the display of the Register of Voters was conducted across all 245 Registration Areas (wards) in Lagos State, including all Registration Areas in Alimosho and Shomolu Local Government Areas,” the statement read.
The commission urged members of the public to disregard the misleading reports and seek accurate information through its official communication channels.
It also advised media organisations and practitioners to verify information from credible and authoritative sources before publication, stressing that responsible journalism and accurate reporting were essential to curbing misinformation and maintaining public confidence in the electoral process.
INEC Lagos reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, credible electoral processes and the timely dissemination of accurate information to the public.
