The Lagos State Government has launched a five-day digital skills training programme for youths in Badagry and Ikorodu to enhance their employability, entrepreneurship and readiness for a technology-driven economy.

The Eko Digital Training Programme, which runs from September 7 to 11, 2026, is being organised by the Ministry of Tertiary Education at the Badagry Division Iba ICT Centre, Iba Town, and the Homat School of Basic Studies CBT Centre, Igbogbo, Ikorodu.

The programme provides participants with practical training in digital literacy, artificial intelligence, information technology, emotional intelligence and entrepreneurship.

Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hon. Tolani Sule, said the initiative was designed to provide young people with relevant and practical education to strengthen their competitiveness in the job market.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Adeniran Kasali, said sustained investment in digital education would contribute to building a globally competitive economy while addressing youth unemployment.

Kasali urged participants to take full advantage of the free training and apply the skills acquired to advance their careers, grow their businesses and achieve greater economic independence.

The ministry said the programme is part of efforts to expand access to digital learning and equip more young Lagos residents with skills required to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the digital economy.
