LASTMA warns skitmakers over unauthorized use of uniform, kits

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has declared the use of its uniform and kits by film and skit makers without permission illegal.
Acting General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki, who frowned at the demeaning manner in which movie and skit makers portray Lastma institution in their movies and skits by using agency’s uniform without recourse to the law, said it is a crime to use the kits for films unauthorised.
Bakare-Oki made this known on Thursday after a viral video of some civilians in the official kits of the agency, and one of them portrayed to have been touched and revived with voodoo charm.
The GM said “film or skit makers who portray themselves as Lastma Officers without applying for, and being duly issued a permit letter for such portrayals, should desist with immediate effect or face the full wrath of the Law”.
The agency, however, warned skit makers and the general public to desist from such acts as perpetrators would be tracked down to face the full wrath of the law.
