Lolo Mbakara reacts to reports of alleged child trafficking at Eldona Hospital

Social media influencer and wife of comedian MC Mbakara, Lolo Mbakara, has reacted to reports of an alleged baby trafficking operation uncovered at Eldona Hospital in Rivers State.

On June 12, 2026, the Nigeria Police Force, alongside the Rivers State Interprofessional Anti-Quackery Committee, raided the private medical facility in Port Harcourt following intelligence reports of alleged child trafficking activities. Several suspects were subsequently arrested, including the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Elizabeth Obot.

The facility was later shut down, while investigations into the allegations continue.

Reacting to the development, Lolo took to her social media pages on Wednesday, urging women who may have used the facility or know anyone who delivered there to come forward and share their experiences.

In her words, “If you have ever delivered in this Eldona Hospital or you know anyone who delivered a child there, come outside o, because the evil and atrocities happening in this place are too much. We know people can be wicked, but these people are taking it a step further”.

Referring to reports circulating from the ongoing investigation, Lolo alleged that the hospital exchanged newborn babies with dead infants and sold the babies for about N3 million each. She claimed that the practice was allegedly targeted at women who had no relatives present during delivery and were unaware of what was happening.

“What these people do is that they have a dead embalmed baby in their hospital. When you go there to deliver and no one is with you, they exchange your child with the dead one by passing it through the window while the mother is in a critical state, especially after a Caesarean section. They then sell the baby for N3 million,” she alleged.

She further claimed that babies were sometimes swapped for parents seeking a different gender from the one they had given birth to, adding that family pressure over a child’s gender often contributed to such situations. Lolo urged men to support their partners regardless of the gender of their children, warning that such practices could lead to paternity disputes and long-term family crises.
