Medplus, Mobihealth partner to launch telehealth hubs nationwide

Medplus, Nigeria’s largest health and beauty retail chain, has partnered with Mobihealth International, Africa’s pioneering integrated telehealth company, to launch telehealth hubs across its outlets nationwide.

The initiative, unveiled on October 1, 2025, will see over 140 Medplus stores in 19 states equipped with in-store telehealth booths, allowing customers to consult licensed doctors virtually, obtain e-prescriptions, and access genuine medications on-site or through doorstep delivery.

According to both companies, the partnership seeks to close the gap between pharmacy visits and follow-up medical consultations, offering Nigerians quick, convenient, and affordable access to healthcare.

Mrs. Joke Bakare, Founder and CEO of Medplus, said the collaboration will transform the role of pharmacies in the country. “With over 140 stores across 19 states, we’re proud to be at the forefront of transforming pharmacy care in Nigeria. Our partnership with Mobihealth ensures that every Medplus store is not just a place to buy medicine, but a gateway to timely, affordable, and trusted healthcare services,” she said.

Dr. Funmi Adewara, Founder and CEO of Mobihealth International, described the project as a milestone in the company’s mission to democratize healthcare.

“By embedding telehealth hubs in Medplus stores, we are offering people the power to consult a doctor anytime, anywhere, at an affordable rate, while ensuring genuine medication is always within reach,” she said.

The telehealth hubs will feature private booths with diagnostic support, enabling patients to speak to doctors virtually without long waits or high costs. The service is expected to benefit busy urban dwellers as well as underserved communities with limited access to healthcare professionals.

Both firms emphasized that the Medplus-Telehealth model is designed to provide seamless, patient-centered healthcare while improving accessibility and trust in the health system.
