Nigerian TikToker Carter Efe reacts to Babcock’s litigation threat

Nigerian TikToker and content creator, Carter Efe, has responded to Babcock University’s announcement of plans to pursue legal action against him over an alleged certificate forgery.
His reaction comes shortly after the university released a public statement on Monday distancing itself from a certificate allegedly shared by the skit maker. The institution insisted it did not issue the certificate and threatened to take legal action against him.
In the statement, the university said the purported “Honorary Certificate” claiming to award Oderhohwo Joseph Efe a “First Class Upper” did not originate from the institution. It clarified that it does not issue honorary certificates for undergraduate academic performance and has no degree classification known as “First Class Upper,” noting that its highest academic classification is First Class Honours.
Babcock also urged members of the public, employers and other institutions to disregard the document and verify academic credentials through the Office of the Registrar.
Reacting to the claims during a recent livestream, Carter Efe addressed the university directly, saying he had heard they were looking for him but would not visit the institution unless they paid for his ticket.
“I hear say una dey find me. Una no go see me until una pay ₦100,000 ticket for me. Una no go see me,” he said jokingly.
He added that he would visit the institution soon.
