Nigeria’s sustainable energy media influencer honored in Kenya

The founder and chief executive officer of Energy Intelligence, a Lagos-based sustainable energy communications outfit, Ayobami Adedinni has won the Founders Award of the Youth Energy Summit in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Youth Energy Summit is a network for early career professionals, entrepreneurs, students and educators to boost the skills, connections and business readiness of a new generation of African energy Leaders.
It has a goal of reaching 100 million people across Africa over the next 10 years through its network-based approach to upskilling and industry progression.
The Award which was held on the sideline of the African Energy Forum and considered one of the continent’s most prized, honours organizations committed to transforming youth development in the continent.
Africa, a continent brimming with untapped potential, has long been the focal point of ambitions for progress and prosperity. However, the limitations and environmental consequences of traditional energy sources have cast a shadow over this dream.
Adedinni, a staunch advocate for change, urged the shift of focus towards renewable energy solutions.
At the forefront of this renewable energy revolution, The Energy Intelligence, led by Adedinni, has emerged as a trailblazer, championing transformative solutions across the continent. The company has partnered with visionary organizations and helped amplify the stories on their groundbreaking initiatives and innovative technologies driving change in the renewable energy sector.
In his remarks, Adedinni said “I am honored to receive this prestigious award for my advocacy for sustainable energy solutions in Africa and for my efforts in sharing career opportunities in this transformative sector.
“Today, I stand here not only as an individual being recognized for my advocacy efforts, but also as a representative of a collective vision. A vision that sees Africa leading the charge towards a sustainable energy future. A vision that believes in the potential of renewable energy to drive economic development, mitigate climate change, and improve the lives of millions.
As a sustainable energy communications company, we have had the privilege of collaborating with exceptional organizations, sharing their stories and amplifying their impact. Together, we have shed light on groundbreaking initiatives, innovative technologies, and the extraordinary individuals driving change in the renewable energy sector. These partnerships have further strengthened our resolve to create a better world through sustainable energy”, he added.
Speaking at the event, Kenya’s President, William Ruto said that Africa has been positioned as the clean, green energy hub of the future and can leverage its unique capabilities to avoid climate catastrophe.
“In the discourse about energy and climate change, it is impossible to be neutral or disinterested. We can be part of the problem and at the same time contribute to the solution in various ways,” he said.
According to him, sustainable energy development requires sufficient scale to ensure universal energy access and affordability to bridge the energy access gap.
“This calls for inclusive energy policies, innovative financing mechanisms and targeted policy interventions to reach those who need it most,” he said.
