No rift between Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun – LASG

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, has dismissed reports alleging a rift between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Akosile said the attention of Governor Sanwo-Olu had been drawn to reports circulating on some online media platforms and blogs suggesting a strained relationship between the two governors.
He described the reports as false, stressing that the relationship between the Lagos and Ogun governors is cordial and brotherly.
“We wish to state clearly that this is not true. In fact, it is the direct opposite of the relationship that exists between the two leaders,” the statement said.
Akosile noted that both governors meet regularly and communicate frequently on matters of mutual interest aimed at the development of their respective states.
According to him, the close relationship is further strengthened by the fact that Lagos and Ogun states share common boundaries and are bound by strong socio-cultural ties.
He advised those spreading what he described as fake news and attempting to sow discord between the two leaders to desist, noting that Governors Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun share a common vision of improving the welfare and well-being of their people.
