No rift with Aiyedatiwa, my ambition remains intact — Akure Reps aspirant

A leading aspirant of the All Progressives Congress for the Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency seat, Oluwafemi Fadairo, has dismissed rumours of a disagreement between him and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa ahead of the party’s primary election.

Fadairo, a former aide to the governor on community engagement, spoke on Tuesday while meeting APC ward chairmen and party stakeholders in Akure.

The APC chieftain said his decision to contest was based on calls from constituents who believed he possessed the experience needed to represent the constituency effectively at the National Assembly.

“I have been screened and cleared by the party. The road is now open for my aspiration and we are fully prepared for the direct primary,” he said.

Fadairo further denied claims that there was tension between him and Aiyedatiwa, insisting that he remained loyal to the governor and the APC leadership in the state.

“I have a cordial relationship with Governor Aiyedatiwa. There is absolutely no friction between us. He remains my leader and this contest will not destroy our political relationship,” he stated.

The aspirant also dismissed reports of an alleged consensus arrangement in favour of another contender, describing the claims as speculation aimed at creating confusion within the party.

Speaking on his chances in the primary election, Fadairo expressed confidence in his grassroots support across Akure North and Akure South, urging party members and supporters to remain peaceful before and after the exercise.
