NSC boss Dikko promises collaboration with organized private sector

Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Malam Shehu Dikko, has announced plans to establish a strategic partnership and network of collaboration with the organized private sector, including the Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports.

Malam Dikko made this statement on Friday in Abuja during a courtesy visit to his office by the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike.

The NSC chairman, accompanied by the newly appointed Director General of the Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, commended Chief Ejidike for his significant contributions to the growth and development of sports in Nigeria.

“Your numerous contributions to sports development over the years are well recognized. Be assured of our collaboration with your office and personality as we strive to provide sports with a new perspective in line with the mandate of our office,” Dikko said.

“We have taken note of your submissions and advice on the way forward. We will continue to seek your support and cooperation to achieve our mission and vision of building a strong sports economy in Nigeria,” he added.

Hon. Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the Commission, also praised Chief Ejidike for his efforts to advance sports across the country and assured him of continuous collaboration to elevate sports to greater heights.

Earlier, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike congratulated Malam Shehu Dikko on his appointment as NSC chairman, describing it as well-deserved. He reaffirmed his office’s commitment to partnering with the Commission to ensure the holistic development of sports, particularly at the grassroots level.

Chief Ejidike was accompanied by a delegation that included the Director of Football at ABS FC, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka; National General Secretary of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ikenna Okonkwo; Chairman of FCT SWAN, Kelechi Onwudiwe; former Chairman of FCT SWAN, Ndubueze Chidoka; and Secretary of FCT SWAN, Samuel Ahmadu.

The visit featured the presentation of a six-point position paper on the way forward for Nigerian sports and an exchange of souvenirs.
