Ododo hails Oyebanji’s leadership, commissions key projects in Ekiti

By Boye Oyeyemi –

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has lauded Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as his exceptional leadership and preparedness for governance.

Speaking on Tuesday at Ilawe-Ekiti during the commissioning of the 21-kilometre Ikere-Ilawe road and the renovated General Hospital, Ododo said Oyebanji’s administration has shown capacity and commitment through its developmental strides across sectors in the past three years.

He praised the Ekiti governor for engaging local contractors in executing road projects, describing the move as a testament to his belief in the development of indigenous capacity.

“With your governance and leadership in Ekiti, you have demonstrated that government is about vision and performance. With what I have seen and the solid support you are getting from Ekiti people, it is evident that you came solidly prepared for governance,” Ododo said.

The Kogi governor, who was the special guest of honour at the event, also commended Oyebanji for his focus and people-orientated leadership, noting that his achievements have earned him the respect of even his political opponents.

In his remarks, Oyebanji said the completion of the road project marked a “jinx-breaking expedition”, attributing his administration’s success to President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, which he said have improved state finances.

“I have not borrowed a dime to fund any of the capital projects going on in Ekiti State, and this is because of the audacious reforms being carried out by President Tinubu that have made more monies available to states,” Oyebanji stated.
