Olubadan installs four Mogajis, warns against criminal activities

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has warned Mogajis and compound heads against involvement in criminal activities, stressing that they would be held accountable for security lapses within their respective domains.

Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, gave the warning while installing four new Mogajis in Ibadan, urging them to uphold the responsibilities of their traditional positions and contribute to peace and security in their communities.

The newly installed Mogajis are Olusegun Emmanuel Ogunyemi of Ogunwelu Compound in Oke-Adu, Ibadan North-East; Akeem Olalekan Alade of Oju-Abere Compound in Inalende, Ibadan North-West; Aderinto Adesoji of Sangodeyi Ikuola Compound in Idi-Arere, Ibadan South-West; and Adewale Idowu Akanmu Abonde of Abonde Compound in Ibadan North-East Local Government Area.

Speaking through the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, Ladoja congratulated the new Mogajis and reminded them that they were representatives of the Olubadan within their respective family compounds.

He urged them to shun activities capable of tarnishing the image of the Olubadan institution and Ibadanland, specifically warning against land grabbing, drug abuse, corruption, hatred and vendetta.

Ladoja, who described the new Mogajis as his ambassadors, urged them to align with his vision of taking Ibadanland to greater heights and demonstrate responsible leadership within their domains.

Furthermore, he warned that Mogajis would be held responsible for criminal acts and security lapses occurring within their areas, urging them to work with relevant authorities and community stakeholders to maintain peace and prevent criminal activities.

The Olubadan also charged the newly installed traditional heads to promote peaceful coexistence, protect the interests of their communities and support efforts aimed at achieving greater development and stability across Ibadanland.
