Ekiti SUBEB extends teachers’ recruitment test to three days

The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board has extended its qualifying examination for the recruitment of public primary school teachers from two to three days to accommodate the large number of applicants.
The examination, initially scheduled for August 14 and 15, 2026, will now hold from Thursday, August 13, to Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The Permanent Secretary of SUBEB, Michael Omolayo, announced the adjustment in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, saying the additional day was necessary because of the high number of candidates who completed the application process.
He said the extension would enable the board to conduct the examination efficiently for the large number of eligible applicants who successfully completed the application process.
The Computer-Based Test will be held at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, with shortlisted applicants expected to receive their individual examination dates and times through their registered email addresses.
Meanwhile, Omolayo urged candidates to attend only on their assigned dates and times and bring printed copies of their application forms for verification, stressing that only duly invited applicants would be admitted into the examination halls.
He also said mobile phones and other electronic devices would not be allowed at the venue, advising candidates against arriving outside their scheduled periods or loitering around the examination centre.
The recruitment followed Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s approval to fill staffing gaps in public primary schools, mainly caused by teacher retirements, with SUBEB Chairman, Professor Femi Akinwumi, saying the exercise was aimed at addressing vacancies and strengthening basic education delivery across the state.
